I just edited my 1st post with 10 Google fonts, some of those should meet your calligraphy needs? yeah? let me know
otherwise if you can find a favorite on google font I can easily add it.

I think it's great and inline with GIMP forum since GIMP has different fonts too.

Tim, very good to have this diversity of fonts, the forum will definitely have another face!
One feature that I miss, is to be able to create a table, where I could insert the content into rows and columns in an organized way. I tried it once, using html, but it did not work.

You can by using table and row and cell buttons.
Just think of them as table tr and td in html.

Georgia is my font of choice.

The kerning of the font's numbers is rater interesting,
which isn't arranged linearly.
I also found,
that this fount handles Bold Text better than most other fonts.

My font example above.
Was given the color 80BFFF.
However,
this color isn't being shown in the post.
