Not much inspiration lately. Therefore an outcome based on a Photoshop tutorial by rafy A.

Thank you for your kind comment, Richard.
On advice of Diego (dinasset) I adjusted my outcome.
Among other things, the shadows of the diamonds were not pointing in the right direction.

Ella, I couldn't see much of a difference between the two previous images. When I scrolled the page to see the second image it looked like the first. Basically the character's shadow was an easier difference to notice.
So I copied and pasted the two images in overlapping layers in Gimp and after switching the view between the layers I could clearly see that the differences are huge. You did altered the entire spectrum around the lighting.
Of course, the second one has a better disposition from the perspective of the shadows, with a more real look (I read Diego's comment on GimpChat)
But I couldn't decide on one of them. I alternated the visualization between the layers several times trying to choose which one would have pleased me most, but without success. I both liked it a lot.
Ella, thank you for sharing another beautiful work with us!

Krikor, thank you for taking the time to analyze my work.
The shadow of the person indeed is very different, also the lighting of the entire work.
The wrong shadows were mainly noticed by Diego's expert eye
Behind the squares I placed a shadow to create more depth.
I also edited the clouds, I gave them more perspective with the perspective tool, at least that was my intention, I hope I succeeded.
Thank you very much for your extensive comments and I'm glad you like both of my outcomes.

Hi gimpturkey, the outcome of May 2017 was made with a tutorial written by Combagui.
Unfortunately, when Combagui left the Gimp Learn forum, he also had all his tutorials removed.
They can no longer be found here.
From my latest work I will post a link to the tutorial.
It's a Photoshop tutorial but you can try it in Gimp. I also did that

Good luck if you want to try it
