Here are a couple of photographs for anyone to play with. Nothing special. I have also attached the full size images as .zip iles.

Hi David,
I had not dealt with image editing in a long time. I realized that I forgot a lot of the little that I still knew.
Of course I didn't get a good result in the details, but it was good to play a little again.
Basically clone tool.

My attempt, but you know David, that I am inexperienced. I have tried removing the natural blur and used the clone tool to remove some branches, too.

Issabella,
Great results! Especially the second picture (the one with the flag), You have given it a crispness and sparkle.

My plays with these two photos.
I reduced the originals to 800px wide (the final size for uploading). Removed the black corners using heal selection. (Caused by my loose lenshood having rotated - I must fix it!)
IMG_0017 - Levelled the horizon.

Then I started a new experiment. I had used Wavelet Decompose previously for retouching - as in the Pat David tutorial. I have tried here to use it to emphasise features.

IMG_0018: Wavelet Decompose - 7 layers. By switching off all layers except Decomposition and Residual, I could then switch on each of the other layers individually to see the level of detail they contain. I made a selection of the water and after finding which layers had the detail for the ripples and the reflections I adjusted the contrast of those layers. I did the same having selected the rocks.

IMG_0017: Wavelet Decompose. Selected the foreground and sharpened by duplicating layer 1. The Residual layer I increased the contrast.

Thank you David for these nice photos.
I did my try on the second one. Only removed the wires and the blur. Also applied a bit more of contrast.
The most difficult part has been the zone over the bars :2_Thumbs:

On the flowers photo, I centred the flowers using uncrop side created by you, David.
The I tried apply relevance to the flowers keeping the nice green dark background.

Issabella,
Great results on the photographs.

Now my tries.
Village street: I removed the one cable which went across the sky and a few other things (poster on the pole and the car). With my david2_lum_mask plugin I lightened the front of the house, without affecting the darkest parts - the trees, which form a frame.
Selected the paving in front of the house and gave it a colour boost. Slight sharpening.

Flowers: Cropped. Slight colour boost and sharpened with Wavelet Decompose.
