Today so far, I have earned $2.73 (with adsense) which is about 5 seagull meals (of baked dough: the flour costs about $0.60 per batch/meal).
Somehow, since I started feeding seagulls, I perceive money in terms of seagull meals now. LOL

I thought these birds were marine, inhabiting coastal regions or islands. I didn't expect to see them in an urban area like pigeons.

They can go inland because they eat garbage from landfills.
We're close the beach now, so they're there but even when I used to live in Calgary where there's no ocean around there were ton of them at the land fills.

In part I may have confused seagull for albatross.

But it was not many months ago that I did research on several sites about these two birds and it was practically unanimous that both were predominantly marine or coastal.

It seems that a lot that there is still about several species available on the web is a lot of theory with little update.

I would never imagine seagulls with habits similar to those of vultures, feeding on landfills.

It seems that the human being is managing to change the habitat and ecological niche of several species more quickly than I thought.

What is the difference between an albatross and a seagull?

• The albatross can be large to very large, while seagulls are medium to large in size.

• The albatross has an adaptation to remove salt from the feed, but is not present in seagulls.

• Seagulls inhabit terrestrial or coastal environments, while albatrosses are always oceanic and barely stay on the ground.

• The albatross's beak is a weapon specially adapted to attack sea creatures, while seagulls have a long beak that can be opened to capture items from larger prey.

• The albatross is an exclusive carnivore, but seagulls are omnivorous.

• Diversity is greater among seagulls with more than 55 species, while the diversity of albatrosses is less with only 21 species.

• Gulls and albatrosses have a long life, but the albatross lives a little longer, some of them are over 70 years old.

I remember watching this show, they showed dead seagulls with tooth brushes inside their skeleton so I guess they get so hungry that they start to eat up anything they swallow and as a result die from it.

I know little to nothing about birds.
However, I've read here... https://www.thespruce.com/good-bread-for-birds-385833 that not all bread is good for birds.

This is particularly prominent among young waterfowl in urban and suburban areas where ducklings and goslings may be fed tremendous amounts of bread. As these young birds fail to get the proper nutrients for healthy growth, they can develop deformed wings and legs, aggressive temperaments, poor circulation, and many other difficulties."

Thanks Wallace, I feed whole grain dough and not enough to fill them since a little bowl is shared among 50 of them.
